General Terms and Conditions

These Terms & Conditions apply to all landscaping, gardening, hard landscaping, groundworks and related services provided by A1 Landscape Garden Services Ltd (“A1”, “we”, “us” or “our”).

1. Quotations

All quotations are based on the information available to us at the time of preparation. Quotations are valid for the period stated and may be subject to change if the scope of work, materials, access or site conditions change.

Unless specifically stated, quotations do not include additional work requested by the customer or unforeseen work required due to hidden or unknown site conditions.

2. Acceptance of Work

A quotation or estimate is accepted when the customer confirms approval in writing, verbally, electronically or by instructing A1 to commence work. Acceptance confirms agreement to these Terms & Conditions.

3. Changes to Work

Any changes or additional work requested after acceptance may result in additional charges. Where reasonably possible, A1 will discuss the cost and obtain customer approval before carrying out additional work.

4. Site Access

The customer must provide reasonable access to the property and work area. Delays caused by restricted access, other contractors, weather or circumstances outside A1’s reasonable control may affect completion times and costs.

5. Materials

Materials will be selected in accordance with the agreed quotation. Natural products, including plants, timber and stone, may vary in colour, size, texture and appearance. Suitable alternatives may be proposed where specified materials are unavailable.

6. Payment

Unless otherwise agreed, invoices are payable within 14 days of the invoice date. Deposits or staged payments may be required for larger projects. A1 reserves the right to suspend work where overdue amounts remain unpaid.

7. Completion and Defects

A1 will carry out work with reasonable care and skill. Customers should notify A1 of any concerns or alleged defects as soon as reasonably practicable so that the matter can be investigated and, where appropriate, rectified.

Nothing in these Terms & Conditions affects any statutory rights the customer has under Jersey law.

8. Weather and Unforeseen Circumstances

Landscaping and gardening work can be affected by weather, ground conditions and other circumstances outside A1’s control. Completion dates may therefore change where necessary to ensure work is carried out safely and appropriately.

9. Cancellation

If a customer cancels or postpones agreed work, A1 may charge for work already completed, materials purchased or other reasonable costs incurred as a result of the cancellation.

10. Liability

A1 will take reasonable care to avoid damage to property. However, we cannot accept responsibility for damage resulting from pre-existing defects, hidden conditions, inadequate access or matters outside our reasonable control.

11. Governing Law

These Terms & Conditions are governed by the laws of Jersey, and any disputes will be subject to the jurisdiction of the Jersey courts.

A1 Landscape Garden Services Ltd reserves the right to update these Terms & Conditions from time to time. The version applicable to a project will be the version in effect when the quotation is accepted.
