We would also like to send you news and information that may be relevant to you. By becoming a customer of A1 Group, you are consenting for us to contact you for marketing purposes.

What information do we collect about you?
A1 Group will gather information about you when you submit an enquiry, call or email us to discuss our services and/or products, when you become one of our customers, apply to use any of our services or contact us in person – by telephone, email or post. We will also gather data from you when you provide feedback, or when you complete a customer survey or a contact form. When you access our website, the usage information is collected using cookies.
How will we use your information?
Your information is collected for the following reasons:
To process applications to use our products and services, to verify your identity to prevent financial crime and money laundering, to help us provide you with the services being requested, to help protect your information and prevent unauthorised access to your information, to improve the service we provide to our customers and to send you marketing, to help administer our website and improve your user experience and general communications as required.
Periodically, we may collect, use and share your data, including (but not limited to) information from usage data, location data, cookies and log files. This data may be shared with businesses that operate within the same group as A1 Group, or that become a part of that group, in order to facilitate the objective previously stated.
Your information may be disclosed to any of our agents, employees, officers, suppliers or third parties as necessary to enable us to provide our services to you, and/or to allow us to comply with our legal and regulatory obligations.

Brokers, service providers and intermediaries: Sometimes we will share information with brokers, service providers and intermediaries so as to ensure that we can provide and maintain the provision of services to you.
Credit reference agencies, fraud prevention agencies and related service providers:
In the event that you are requesting financial services for products and services from A1 Group, the brokers that we will approach may use credit reference agencies and fraud protection agencies to assist with decision making. This may be when you first approach us reference the provision of our services to you, or as part of the provision of services, or as required thereafter. A third party can provide us with an electronic identity verification system which may be used to verify your identity. This requires your information to be sent electronically to the third party, who will then pass the information to fraud prevention and credit reference agencies. Regulators: The Jersey Financial Services Commission, some government agencies and other regulatory bodies have a legal right to access data held by us. We are legally obliged to disclose the information we hold to such bodies upon request.
A1 Group professional advisers: Our auditors, lawyers, appointed auditors, accountants and other professional advisers may require access to the data held about you to enable them to advise us accordingly.
Shareholders: Our shareholders may periodically require access to the information we hold about you in order to assist with the management of our business.
Credit reference and Fraud Protection Agencies
When you apply for finance with A1 Group, the following records about you and others (including business partners) will be checked and reviewed:
Our personal and business (if applicable) records at credit reference agencies: A credit reference agency search will leave a footprint on your credit file once a search has been made. This may be seen by other lenders. They will provide us with both shared and public credit and fraud prevention information (including electoral register information).
Records held at fraud prevention agencies: A1 Group or the brokers, service providers and intermediaries consulted regarding your request, will make checks with fraud prevention agencies to assess the application for credit and confirm identities to prevent and/or detect money laundering and crime. From time to time, we may also make searches at credit reference agencies and fraud prevention agencies, to manage your account with us.
If a joint application is being made, or you make us aware that you have a financial associate or spouse, we will link your records so you must make sure that you have their agreement to disclose their personal information. Credit reference agencies will also link your records, and these links will remain on your credit file until such time as you or your partner successfully file for a disassociation with the credit reference agencies to break the link. Information on applications will be sent to the credit reference agencies and these will be recorded with and by them. Where you borrow money from us, we will provide details of your account(s) and how they are managed to the credit reference agencies. If you borrow funds and repayments are not made in full and on time, the outstanding debt will be recorded with and by the credit reference agencies. This information may be supplied to other organisations by either the credit reference agencies and/or the fraud prevention agencies, to perform similar checks and to track your whereabouts/recover any debts that may be owed. Records will remain on your file for 6 years after they are closed, regardless of whether defaulted or settled in full. Should you provide us with false or inaccurate information, and should we identify or suspect fraud, we will record this and may pass the information to the fraud prevention agencies and other organisations involved in crime and fraud prevention.
If you have borrowed money from us and do not make the payments owed to us, we will trace your whereabouts to recover the debt(s). We (and other organisations) may access and use information from fraud prevention agencies of other countries.

How we protect your personal information
At A1 Group, we take appropriate security measures (procedural, physical and electronic measures) to help safeguard your personal data from unauthorised disclosure/access (for example, only authorised employees are permitted to access personal data, and are allowed to do so only for legitimate business purposes). We also use firewalls to help prevent unauthorised persons from accessing your personal data. We require all parties to whom personal information is transferred to comply with the same measures.
Despite our best efforts regarding security, it is always important to remember that the internet itself is not a secure method of communication. Personal information sent through the internet is potentially liable to being intercepted by other parties. We cannot guarantee the security of personal data sent to us through our website or via email. By agreeing to our terms and conditions, you acknowledge that you are using our website and receiving emails from A1 Group at your own risk, and that we shall not be held responsible for any unauthorised distribution, use, damage or destruction of personal information.
Retention of personal information: In accordance with the Acts, A1 Group will ensure that your personal information is held for no longer than is necessary for its purpose, or to assist with the management of the provision of services to you. Where personal data held is known to be unreliable, irrelevant or excessive, we will securely delete it as soon as possible.
Will your personal information be transferred outside the EU?
A1 Group may share your personal information with our service providers and other related companies. This may involve the transfer of your information to countries outside of the EU, whose data protection laws may not be as extensive as our own. Where personal information is transferred to a company outside of the EU, A1 Group will make sure that this is done in accordance with the Acts (for example, by putting an appropriate data transfer agreement in place). This will be done with a view to ensuring that the level of protection that applies to your personal data processed in these countries is similar to that which applies within the EU.
Access to information
You have a legal right to view the information we hold about you, and to request that any inaccurate information held about you be corrected. Should you require a copy of some or all of the personal information we hold about you, please contact us using the details below. At A1 Group we want to make sure that the personal information we hold about you is accurate and up-to-date. You are entitled to request that we correct or remove any data that you believe is inaccurate. A nominal fee may be charged to cover the administrative costs incurred to respond to your request.
